About
Soundsteps
Helping musicians master their repertoire through proven learning science and intelligent practice tracking.
Start Your JourneyOur Mission
Soundsteps exists to solve a problem every musician knows too well: the frustration of forgetting pieces you've worked so hard to learn.
We believe that with the right tools and proven learning science, musicians can build a lasting repertoire that stays with them for life. Our platform combines spaced repetition, interleaved practice, and AI-powered feedback to help you practice smarter, not just harder.
No more starting from scratch. No more wasted practice time. Just steady progress that compounds over time.
Our Story
Soundsteps was born from a personal frustration. As a musician, I experienced the heartbreak of forgetting pieces I had spent months mastering. Despite countless hours of practice, works would slip away without the right maintenance schedule.
I knew there had to be a better way. Research in learning science showed that spaced repetition and interleaved practice could dramatically improve retention—but there was no tool designed specifically for musicians to apply these principles.
So I built Soundsteps: a practice tracking platform that uses proven cognitive science to help musicians build repertoire that lasts.
Grounded in Science
Soundsteps isn't just another practice tracker. It's built on decades of cognitive science research.
Spaced Repetition
Review pieces at scientifically optimal intervals to maximize retention and minimize forgetting.
Interleaved Practice
Mix different pieces and styles in your practice sessions for deeper learning and better long-term retention.
Retrieval Practice
Actively recall and perform pieces rather than passive review, strengthening memory pathways.
Our Values
Evidence-Based
Every feature in Soundsteps is grounded in peer-reviewed research. We don't guess—we follow the science.
Musician-First
Built by musicians, for musicians. We understand your challenges because we live them too.
Privacy-Focused
Your practice data, recordings, and progress belong to you. We'll never sell your information.
